I just wrapped up a 1-month stay as a digital nomad in Nha Trang, Vietnam, and to be honest, it was hands down the most satisfying month of my entire 2-year nomad journey so far. I realized once again how much I love warm, seaside cities.
There are direct flights to Nha Trang from South Korea, so I traveled via Seoul. Cam Ranh International Airport is located quite far from the city center, and since I arrived late at night, I stayed at The Arena Cam Ranh, a hotel near the airport, for the first night.
It cost around 8,000 JPY (approx. $50 USD) for one night—not exactly cheap, but it included a breakfast buffet and had a beach right in front of the property! That kind of experience at this price is rare in other countries. It would be a great place for couples or families—but admittedly, it felt a bit too quiet for a solo traveler like me.

The next morning, I filled up at the buffet and took a Grab taxi into the city center.
Main Accommodation: Holi Anna Boutique Hotel
For the month, I booked a room via Airbnb at Holi Anna Boutique Hotel. The room was spacious, with two beds (which was honestly one too many 😄).

The shower had great water pressure and consistent hot water, and unlike many places in Vietnam, the toilet allowed you to flush toilet paper. A huge plus!
It’s located right in the heart of Nha Trang, so everything was within easy reach.
The monthly rent was around 38,000 JPY (~$240 USD). On top of that, I paid for electricity usage and a few drinks from the mini fridge (25,000 VND for beer, 20,000 VND for cola) when I checked out—totaling about 10,000 JPY (~$65 USD).
I used the air conditioner almost nonstop.
Total cost for the month: approx. 48,000 JPY (~$310 USD).
The host was incredibly responsive and kind—probably the best Airbnb host I've had so far.
Daily Life in Nha Trang
Every morning, I’d grab a bánh mì, walk to the beach, eat by the ocean, swim, and then head back to my room to work.
It was pure bliss.
Honestly, I miss those days so much... I want to go back—so badly.

Just walking along the beach would make me feel at peace. It was the most relaxed and comfortable I’ve felt in a long time.
Food & Café Recommendations in Nha Trang
I ate at a bunch of places during my stay, but here are my top picks:
Nha He Coffee Shop
A cozy, Ghibli-like café with a very “Vietnamese vibe.” Vietnam has amazing coffee and bread—this place nailed both!

Bánh Mì Phan
This spot is quite popular among tourists, and rightfully so. Their shrimp and cheese bánh mì is a must-try! The crispy baguette, plump shrimp, and melty cheese combo was chef's kiss.

Greek Souvlaki Nha Trang
For some reason, there are a lot of Greek restaurants in Nha Trang. When I got tired of bánh mì, I’d order a pork gyros here and bring it back to the hotel. Great change of pace!

KhanhKat Mockba
If you're looking for a local, affordable lunch, this spot offers set meals with four menu choices—all for about 500 JPY (~$3.20 USD).

Bun Cha Ha Noi
Vietnamese-style dry noodles (a twist on bun cha). This was so good that I became a regular.
It’s a bold, flavor-packed dish and very satisfying. Also open late, which is a huge bonus.

Cơm Niêu Hương Vị Việt
You really can’t go wrong with pho in Vietnam, but this place had something special. If you’re not sure where to go, give it a try!

🏝️ Sightseeing in Nha Trang
There are some classic sightseeing spots like Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda, but to be honest—they’re quick visits. Don’t expect them to fill a whole day.

If you want a full-day experience, head to Vinpearl Land!
I started by storing my stuff in the water park lockers, then wandered around in my swimwear. Pro tip: wear something you can comfortably walk around in even when wet, or it might get awkward 😅
🌀 Recommended Attractions:
- Water Slides – More fun with friends or family, but even solo I had a blast.

- Alpine Coaster – You have to try this! It’s like a single-rider roller coaster that takes you all the way up a hill and sends you racing back down. Totally unique and exhilarating.

Unfortunately, the aquarium was under renovation during my visit, but it seemed like a popular attraction. I really wanted to check it out...
Final Thoughts
Whether you're lounging on the beach, feasting on delicious local food, or spending the day at Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang has it all.
This city quickly became one of my absolute favorite places in the world.
If you’re a digital nomad or even just visiting Vietnam, I can’t recommend it enough.
Last but not least—don’t leave Nha Trang without treating yourself to a massage. It’s affordable and a perfect way to unwind.
